The SPFest DC Attendee Conference Guide


SPFest DC at a Glance

SPFest DC will take place at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. The 5-day schedule will be as follows:

  • Saturday– Pre-Conference Workshops
  • Sunday– Pre-Conference Workshops
  • Monday– Conference Day 1
  • Tuesday– Conference Day 2
  • Wednesday – Conference Day 3

Workshops and Sessions

You do not have to pre-register for workshops or sessions. Simply attend whatever you’d like. If you indicated you were interested in a workshop during the registration process, that was simply to give us an idea of the anticipated attendance. You are not required to attend what you selected during this time. 

Sessions are organized into discipline-specific tracks. There are multiple tracks running simultaneously during each day of the conference. Choose one complete learning track or mix and match based on what content best meets you and your organization’s current needs!  


General Conference Tips

As with any conference, you’ll want to bring the basics: comfortable shoes as you are likely going to be walking a lot, business cards, a notepad or laptop, and an eagerness to network, learn, and enjoy yourself. Regarding your attire, business casual is appropriate for this type of event.

Upon your arrival at the event, please check-in at the registration desk to receive your conference badge. Check-in is only required once. If you have your badge, you do not need to check-in again. Your badge is also your ticket to the networking reception on Wednesday evening (applies to only passes that include Wednesday sessions).  

When it comes to networking and making new friends, we encourage you to mingle with other attendees when you’re not in sessions! You never know who you’ll meet or what kind of connections you could make. 


Sponsor Scavenger Hunt

Visit the expo hall and scan the QR codes at the sponsors' booths. Complete the scavenger hunt and you will be entered in a drawing for the sponsors' prizes. The prizes will be given away during the lunch break on Friday.


1:1 Meetings / Office Hours

In the app, attendees will be able to schedule meetings with speakers by going to the profile of the speaker they would like to meet with. From that speaker’s profile, they can start a meeting request by clicking on ‘Meeting Requests’. You will then enter in the meeting information and click on ‘Add’. The speaker will then be notified of your meeting request. The same concept applies to scheduling a meeting with other attendees, as well as sponsors.


Ask the Experts

We will have an Ask the Experts booth set up in the expo hall Wednesday – Friday during specific times in which speakers will be available to answer questions from our attendees. Please refer to the event program for further details.


In-App Game 

Play our in-app game for the chance to win prizes!
The lucky winners will be announced in-person and via the app in a push notification on Friday during the lunch break.  
Note: Photos submitted may be used for marketing purposes on behalf of SharePoint Fest.  


Survey Contest

Fill out workshop and session surveys in the app for the chance to win awesome prizes! Each completed survey that is submitted is a chance to win. Simply find the workshop or session in the agenda that you'd like to fill out a survey for and click on ‘Session Survey’ at the bottom. Winners will be announced on Friday during our closing Ask Microsoft Anything session.


Slide Decks

Slide decks for our conference sessions will be provided via a OneDrive link to the attendees.
Please note that workshops are not required to be submitted by speakers.  


Social Media

We encourage all attendees to post about their experience at SharePoint Fest on all social media platforms and to tag us (@sharepointfest) and to use the event hashtag (#SPFestDC). Please also follow SharePoint Fest on FacebookTwitterLinkedIn, and Instagram before and during the conference to learn more about SharePoint Fest and connect with other members and conference attendees.

Get a Free T-Shirt!

Follow us on Facebook and/or on Twitter, make a social post about the event and tag us using @sharepointfest and/or include the event hashtag (#SPFestDC) and get a free t-shirt! T-shirts can be picked up at the registration desk on site at the event. Please note t-shirts are given out on a first-come, first-served basis.


SPFest DC Attendee Facebook Group

Be sure to also join the SharePoint Fest DC attendee Facebook group to connect and introduce yourself and network prior to, during and after the conference. SharePoint Fest will also provide conference updates and important information.

Please note that only conference attendees will be allowed in this group, all members will be verified before approving.
